Fine Jewellery Mounter / Setter – Diamond & High Jewellery
Location: Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham
Salary: Up to £35,000 per year (DOE)
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years fine jewellery bench experience
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Fine Jewellery Mounter / Setter to join our in-house handmade workshop based in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham. This is a hands-on bench role working on diamond-set engagement rings, wedding bands, and bespoke fine jewellery. You will be involved in the production, repair, mounting, finishing, and quality control of both collection pieces and one-off bespoke items, maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship.

The Company
The Neve Jewels Group comprises three leading diamond jewellery brands with a strong presence both in the UK and internationally. Following exceptional growth in recent years, we are on a mission to reshape and disrupt the diamond jewellery industry as Europe’s only digital-first jewellery group. We are one of the very few jewellers in the UK with our own handmade workshop, allowing us full control over quality and craftsmanship. We specialise in certified, conflict-free diamonds, creating engagement rings, wedding bands, earrings, bracelets, pendants, and bespoke fine jewellery.
Key Responsibilities
- Resizing engagement rings, diamond-set bands, and wedding bands using laser technology
- Profiling and polishing fine jewellery
- Half-shanking rings (ladies’ & gents’)
- Building up claws and stone settings
- Soldering chains
- Carrying out a wide range of fine jewellery repairs
- Working on both collection pieces and bespoke, one-off designs
- Maintaining strict quality control standards
- Identifying and reporting any production issues
- Working closely with setters, polishers, and other bench jewellers
- Managing workload to meet customer deadlines
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and a clean workshop environment
- Contributing to a positive and collaborative workshop culture
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in fine jewellery mounting (required)
- Proven experience working with diamond-set jewellery
- Experience working with precious metals (gold, platinum, silver)
- Strong skills in sizing, repairs, and finishing across multiple design styles
- Experience with both commercial and bespoke jewellery
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Genuine passion for jewellery craftsmanship
