The Role: As an Engineering Technician, you will work across a broad range of activities including:
- Mechanical assembly of enclosures, structures, robotic components, small drives and actuators, PCBAs, small looms assemblies, panels and screens, pumps and piping, filters, heaters
- In house and client-based fault finding, rectification and diagnostics
- Supplier liaison
- Component-level testing and commissioning
- Cleanroom, GMP
This is a hands-on, varied position within a highly technical and fast-moving environment. Full training and instruction will be given and previous medical assembly experience is NOT essential.
What We’re Looking For: The bar is high — but open to all backgrounds, even Selection is based on what you can demonstrate now.
Essential Requirements:
- HNC, Apprenticeship or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Good understanding of engineering principles
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings inc some knowledge of BS8888, schematics
- Minimum 3 years of practical electromechanical engineering assembly experience in a controlled environment to SOP/work instructions (eg assembly, manufacturing, machining, test, design or similar) within instrumentation, medical, robotic, aerospace, avionics, defence, nuclear, motorsport or any regulated industry
- Demonstrated ability to apply original thought and affect change (not simply follow instructions)
- Strong structured thinking — able to explain reasoning clearly (e.g. using “5 Whys” problem-solving)
- Clear, concise and effective communication skills within a benevolent and team-focused environment
- Right to work in UK indefinitely
- Commutable of west London or willing to relocate
Desirable:
- 5 years plus experience as a technician within an instrumentation, process control, medical devices, robotic or fluidic systems environment
- Ability to read simple electrical/fluid schematics and use hand tools
- Some soldering to IPC level
- manual/low volume machining
