This is an outstanding opportunity to join an established, yet growing, medium-sized company that engineers and manufactures products for the aero, defence, F1, and medical industries. They hold some unique intellectual property in composite and non-ferrous tubular products. Due to growth, we are seeking an established facilities manager / infrastructure manager to ensure the safe, compliant, and effective operation of all site infrastructure now and in the future.

What you will do

This is a strategic role and will interface between operations and the rest of the business to create an overall industrial scheme that ensures the facility infrastructure grows to meet the expansion of the business. Your role will primarily be to manage, coordinate and source all FM service suppliers both day-to-day and for specific projects, e.g., new machine tool installs. This will include FM contractors, utilities, maintenance, site services, machine tool suppliers, tenancy, site security, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Key point of contact for external FM contract ensuring smooth, safe and efficient running of the facility (including landlords, utilities, etc.)
  • Management of external providers to deliver optimised support to production for all operational equipment in relation to both proactive and reactive maintenance
  • Negotiating service contracts
  • Ensure that EHS/compliance/sustainability considerations of the business are considered as part of both the facilities and maintenance departments on-site
  • Manage CAPEX for facility and maintenance, including being the main point of contact in the quotation of technically complex projects
  • Day-to-day management of facilities and maintenance operational budgets in supporting business requirements (departmental budget responsibility)
  • Compliance Management – LOLER, PUWER, LEV, etc.
  • Manage one subordinate

Person Specification

  • Background in facilities management within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing external contract providers, including establishing service level agreements and managing budgets
  • Experience in leading capex projects in an engineering environment
  • A broad understanding of machining facilities, automation, and manufacturing engineering
