Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer (SQA) – Eynsham, Oxfordshire

Aerospace | Motorsport | Advanced Manufacturing

We are an agile and innovative manufacturer of complex metallic and composite components supplied to the aerospace, motorsport, defence and advanced engineering sectors. We specialise in low-volume, high-complexity parts with short development times, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

With around 350 externally sourced components across our supply chain, you will take ownership of supplier quality, ensuring suppliers consistently meet the standards expected.

Key responsibilities include:

  • This SQA role encompasses both QA (supplier auditing, CI initiatives) and QC (non–conformities).
  • Conduct supplier audits for new suppliers, new product introductions and ongoing supplier approval.
  • Assess manufacturing processes, quality systems and continuous improvement activities.
  • Work with suppliers and internal Quality Engineers to resolve quality issues using structured problem-solving techniques including 8D, RCCA, Ishikawa and DOE.
  • Drive supplier corrective actions through to successful completion.
  • Develop and implement a supplier performance and rating system based on quality, delivery and continuous improvement.

About You

You will have experience in Supplier Quality Engineering (or another client facing Quality role) within a regulated mechanical manufacturing environment and be confident working directly with suppliers to improve performance.

You will ideally have:

  • At least five years’ experience in aerospace, automotive, defence or another regulated manufacturing industry.
  • A minimum of two years in a supplier-facing quality role (SQA, SQE or similar).
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings, PFMEAs and manufacturing process flows.
  • Experience carrying out supplier audits and driving supplier improvement activities.
  • Knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Ishikawa or Six Sigma.

Desirable:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent.
  • Internal or Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Experience developing supplier KPIs or supplier scorecards.

What’s on Offer

This is a unique opportunity to become the company’s dedicated Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer. Rather than simply maintaining an established system, you will help shape the supplier quality function, influence supplier strategy and build an SQA framework that supports the continued growth of the business. You’ll enjoy a high level of autonomy, visibility across the organisation and the opportunity to make a genuine impact on product quality and supplier performance.
