Neuranics is a fast-growing fabless semiconductor company pioneering the future of magnetic sensing solutions. Based in Glasgow, we are developing cutting-edge Tunnelling Magnetoresistance (TMR) sensors that are enabling the next generation of wearables, XR, and advanced human-machine interaction. You’ll be part of a fast-moving team developing technology that is unlocking new possibilities for next-generation devices, working closely with Tier 1 consumer electronics and semiconductor companies. Job Summary: As an electronics engineer, you will be focusing on the design and delivery of complex electronic circuit assemblies and architectures, progressing solutions from concept through to system integration and qualification. You will be designing cutting-edge systems for biomedical and consumer applications, getting hands-on with both hardware and firmware design. This role involves working closely with software, application, product, sensor and ASIC teams, contributing to, and ensuring the successful deployment of our TMR sensors. You will play a key role in shaping product capabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to develop hands-on PCB design skills in a fast-moving team building our TMR sensor products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electronic schematic design
  • PCB design and layout
  • Embedded firmware development
  • Hardware bring-up and debugging
  • Supporting prototype assembly and documentation
  • Contributing to the product development process

Requirements:

  • HND, HNC, college qualification or undergraduate degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field
  • 1-2 years’ experience in hardware and firmware design
  • Strong technical skills with analogue and mixed-signal schematic and PCB design
  • Experience with multi-layer PCB layout using Altium Designer
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve system integration issues, and product development roadblocks
  • Ability to write subsystem requirements or procurement specs
  • A good understanding of engineering processes and lifecycles
  • Hands-on testing experience (rapid prototyping and soldering, board bring-up, debugging, EMC testing, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills and technical report writing, with the ability to engage with multidisciplinary technical teams as required
  • Willingness to travel for technical support if required
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, capable of working independently or within a team in a fast-paced environment

Desirable:

  • Experience with MCU peripheral integration
  • Experience with C or C++
  • Experience with SPI/I2C/UART/USB/BLE firmware communications
  • Experience with low-power and IoT system designs
  • Background in electronics systems for biosensing applications
  • Familiarity with STM32 and RTOS
