About the Role

As Programming Assistant, you are integral in the support of our Peer Counselling Clinics, Student Placements, and the second cohort of our Peer Solidarity Certificate Programme. You will also lead the commissioning of our new Peer Clubs, designing a small array of six-week supportive and creative spaces for the neurodivergent+ community in-line with our organisational strategy and centring our communities of focus.

The role includes providing programming administration, reporting and impact measurement, personnel coordination, as well as maintaining our existing care infrastructure. You will help ensure all those seeking care from NEUROMANCERS are supported to the best of our ability and capacity.

We are looking for a human with solid capacity who enjoys taking initiative. You should be confident working both independently and collaboratively, quickly embedding yourself within a small, fast-paced organisation. This role requires excellent time-management, competency for administrative work, and passion for peer-led mental health care.

This is generally a remote role. Our Programming Assistant will be encouraged to attend our optional in-person co-working days in London (the first Monday of each month) and in the medium-term NEUROMANCERS hopes to build in-person London programming. As a result, we have a preference for London-based applicants.

  • Community rooted mental health work
  • Demonstrable programme administration experience, such as managing support requests
  • Leadership, supervision, management, and/or mobilisation of small groups (e.g., volunteers, co-workers, etc.)
  • Confidence with programme design and delivery
  • Strong competency with navigating and managing online softwares
  • Managing calendar, inbox, and various responsibilities within a time-limited role

Responsibilities (as organised by programme)

Peer Clubs (complete within the current role term)

  • Commissioning six facilitators (individuals, or pairs/groups) to run creative 'Peer Clubs'
  • Designing our Peer Clubs programming, including themes/topics of each club
  • Assisting with facilitator training, promotion campaigns, and registration management
  • Supporting the facilitators through onboarding, scheduling, technical assistance, and event moderation
  • Collecting feedback collection from facilitators and participants
  • Managing intakes, waitlisting, and peer-to-counsellor communication
  • Handling admin across payments, reminders, and contracting
  • Scheduling sessions and group supervision
  • Assisting with matching support seekers to appropriate counsellors
  • Collecting feedback from counsellors and support seekers

Student Placements (ongoing)

  • Supporting successful on/off-boarding of placement students
  • Scheduling interviews, trainings, co-reflections/supervision, and feedback meetings
  • Managing training platform and customising placement information for each student
  • Liaising with students' universities and course leads
  • Helping to ensure our radical safeguarding policy is followed at all times

Peer Solidarity Certificate Programme (dep. on funding, starting Autumn 2027)

  • Supporting our second Peer Solidarity Certificate Programme cohort
  • Assisting with promotion, registration, and onboarding of trainees
  • Managing training platform, cohort communications, and other administrative essentials
  • Leading on caring for access needs of trainees
  • Helping manage trainees through practical placements

Alongside the above, we expect all those working within NEUROMANCERS to be...

  • Self-identified as neurodivergent+
  • Organised, responsible, and reliable communicators
  • Able to navigate technology such as email, Canva, or web meetings
  • Aligned with NEUROMANCERS' goals and values
  • Knowledgeable about non-clinical peer support practices, Disability Justice, prison, police, and psychiatric abolition, and the neurodiversity paradigm
  • Committed to anti-racism, LGBTQ+ rights, anti-speciesism, anti-ableism, and total liberation for all

You are welcome to apply if you are new to NEUROMANCERS or if you have formerly been part of our team. We welcome applications from anyone who meets the criteria, inclusive of race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, neurodivergence, or similar.

As a youth-led and anti-capitalist organisation, we're open to applications from those who are younger or may not feel they meet all the experience criteria - as long as you're aligned with the responsibilities and role overview.

If your initial application is successful, you will be invited to an online interview where you may be asked to complete a task. We will ask you to demonstrate your understanding of the role and approach to this work, name how you will self-organise within the hours, and how you align with our values. Interviews will occur remotely on Monday 23rd of November 2026.

As Programming Assistant, you will support multiple existing programmes and lead on commissioning of our Peer Clubs programming, designing a small array of six-week supportive spaces for the neurodivergent+ community in-line with our organisational strategy and centring our communities of focus.
