Qualified PE Teacher Needed – Holiday Club

Location: Chelmsford

Job Type: Freelance

Dates Required:

  • 30th July and 31st
  • 3rd to 7th August
  • 10th to 14th August
  • 17th to 20th August

Hours: 8.45 am to 3.15 pm

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified PE Teacher to support our holiday club for children aged 6 to 11. This is an exciting opportunity to help deliver fun, inclusive, and engaging physical activities as part of a holiday provision that specialises in supporting children with SEND. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, adapting, and leading age-appropriate activities that encourage participation, enjoyment, movement, and confidence in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver enjoyable PE and movement-based activities for children aged 6 to 11
  • Adapt activities to meet a range of needs, including children with SEND
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment
  • Support children to take part safely and confidently in physical activities
  • Work closely with holiday club staff to ensure activities are well organised and run smoothly
  • Maintain appropriate health and safety standards at all times
  • Help promote teamwork, participation, and enjoyment for all children attending

Person Specification

  • Qualified PE Teacher with relevant teaching or sports coaching experience
  • Experience of working with children aged 6 to 11
  • An understanding of SEND and how to adapt activities to meet individual needs
  • Energetic, creative, and approachable
  • Able to build positive relationships with children and staff
  • Committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and child wellbeing
  • Experience working in holiday clubs, schools, or community settings
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training
  • Enhanced DBS
