Location: Commutable from Horsham, Crawley, Brighton, East Grinstead, Haywards Heath, Dorking and surrounding areas
We are currently recruiting a senior engineering role, someone to join a fast paced manufacturing environment as their Controls/Automation Engineer. The role is to be the technical matter expert with regards to the PLC controls and systems on-site across a range of automated equipment. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for someone to step into a leading role that will encompass leading a small team of Engineers. It would suit someone who has a background in controls, specifically with PLCs, and worked in a similar environment; manufacturing, production, industrial or automated all considered.
Responsibilities
- Be the technical matter expert in control systems on-site; primarily Siemens PLCs
- Provide support proactively and reactively to equipment failures
- Actively support all technical projects on new machinery and upgrades
- Modify and minor programming of PLCs via Ladder Logic
- Provide leadership to a small team of Engineers, being on-hand and give guidance in their on-going training and development with controls and PLCs
- Actively support a continuous improvement culture
Requirements
- Engineering Qualified Degree or HND or HNC or ONC or BTEC all considered
- Experienced in Controls/Automation Engineering Systems, specifically PLCs
- Can read, write and interpret a statement list in Ladder Logic
- Leadership and management experience is advantageous
- Experienced in a similar environment industrial, manufacturing or automated
- Excellent communication skills
