Salary: £47,000 to £49,000 per annum + overtime paid at x1.5 & x2.0 plus benefits

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 pm to 7:30 am (permanent nights)

Location: Commutable from Howden, Hull, Selby, Goole, Doncaster, Brough, York, Market Weighton and surrounding areas

Shifts: Only 4 shifts per week – Monday to Thursday 9 pm to 7:30 am

With a sizeable team of over 30 Engineers, the company strives to keep all engineering work in-house, minimising the need and use of external contractors, so you really get involved across the full range of reactive, proactive and project work. Ideal Candidate: The role is suitable for a Mechanical Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a background in an industrial or manufacturing environment and experience of bearings, shafts, belts, chains, motors, gears, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding (MIG).

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain various equipment and machinery across the factory, dealing with and overcoming problems in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Work through a planned preventive maintenance program as well as project and continuous improvement work.
  • Participate in future planned projects involving upgrades and refurbishments that all Engineers get a hand in doing.
  • Perform reactive maintenance, working at pace to attend to and resolve breakdowns swiftly and get production lines back up and running again.
  • Deal with conveyors, belts, bearings, motors, gears, pumps, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.

Requirements:

  • Time‑served apprenticeship or mechanical engineering qualification.
  • Experience with mechanical maintenance or mechanical fitting work in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Machinery maintenance experience.
  • Experience with belts, chains, bearings, pumps, motors, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics is desirable.
  • MIG welding experience desirable.
  • Heavy plant/machinery experience great but not essential.
  • Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in.
  • Friendly and adaptable working attitude.
