With a sizeable team of over 30 Engineers, the company strives to keep all engineering work in-house, minimising the need and use of external contractors, so you really get involved across the full range of reactive, proactive and project work. Ideal Candidate: The role is suitable for a Mechanical Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a background in an industrial or manufacturing environment and experience of bearings, shafts, belts, chains, motors, gears, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding (MIG).
Responsibilities:
- Maintain various equipment and machinery across the factory, dealing with and overcoming problems in a fast‑paced environment.
- Work through a planned preventive maintenance program as well as project and continuous improvement work.
- Participate in future planned projects involving upgrades and refurbishments that all Engineers get a hand in doing.
- Perform reactive maintenance, working at pace to attend to and resolve breakdowns swiftly and get production lines back up and running again.
- Deal with conveyors, belts, bearings, motors, gears, pumps, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.
Requirements:
- Time‑served apprenticeship or mechanical engineering qualification.
- Experience with mechanical maintenance or mechanical fitting work in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment.
- Machinery maintenance experience.
- Experience with belts, chains, bearings, pumps, motors, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics is desirable.
- MIG welding experience desirable.
- Heavy plant/machinery experience great but not essential.
- Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in.
- Friendly and adaptable working attitude.
