Join our team as an Intervention Officer. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, organised and committed to helping families who are experiencing challenging or complex situations. In this role, you will support families who may be at risk of homelessness by offering practical guidance, structured interventions and consistent, person-centred support. You will work directly with families to understand their needs, build clear support plans and coordinate with partner organisations to ensure help is timely and effective. Responsibilities

  • Carry out structured assessments to understand each family's individual needs and risks.
  • Create and deliver clear, achievable support plans that help families stay safe and secure.
  • Maintain regular contact with families and identify issues early, offering practical solutions or referrals where needed.
  • Work alongside partner agencies and attend multi-agency meetings to ensure support is coordinated and consistent.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of contact, actions and outcomes.
  • Identify and report safeguarding concerns or tenancy-related issues so the right action can be taken quickly.
  • Support families experiencing challenges such as anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse, mental health issues, substance misuse or debt.
  • Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of your work.
  • Follow health and safety procedures and report any concerns to support a safe working environment.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Experience working with families or individuals with complex needs.
  • Confidence in assessing risk and developing clear, effective support plans.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen sensitively and communicate clearly.
  • The ability to stay organised, prioritise tasks and manage a busy caseload.
  • A practical, solution-focused approach to challenges.
  • Confidence using digital tools such as phones, laptops, tablets and online systems.
  • An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and when to escalate concerns.
  • A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • A full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
