Are you a compassionate and motivated Speech and Language Therapist looking to begin or further develop your career in neurological rehabilitation? Join our dedicated multidisciplinary team at Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre, part of the Active Care Group, where we deliver specialist neurorehabilitation for people with acquired or traumatic brain injury and other neurological conditions.

What you’ll be working:

Our standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. However, we understand the importance of a positive work-life balance, and therefore, if you require some flexibility to better suit your personal or professional needs, we encourage you to discuss this with us, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences where possible.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Band 5 SLT, you will:

  • Support the assessment and treatment of adults with communication and swallowing difficulties
  • Deliver individual and group therapy sessions under supervision
  • Contribute to goal-setting and therapy planning in collaboration with the wider MDT
  • Be supported to develop skills in managing aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, cognitive-communication disorder, and dysphagia
  • Participate in supervision, reflective practice and training opportunities
  • Take an active role in service development and clinical discussions
  • Ensure that patient care is safe, effective, and in line with national guidelines

This is a developmental role with clear progression pathways and a strong focus on supervision and mentoring. You will work closely with Highly Specialist SLTs and benefit from regular learning opportunities and structured CPD.

What you’ll have:

  • HCPC registration
  • Experience from placements or previous work in neurological settings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for working with adults with acquired/traumatic brain injury
  • A willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
