Active Neuro—the newly launched, specialist division of Active Care Group—is at the forefront of redefining neurorehabilitation in the UK and we’re currently seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team at Nottingham Brain Injury and Neurological Care Centre. This is a key role, offering the chance to shape and influence a service designed to deliver truly integrated, technology-enabled, and outcome-driven neurorehabilitation for individuals with acquired and traumatic brain injury and complex neurological conditions.

With significant investment across our services, Active Neuro combines clinical excellence, advanced rehabilitation technology, and a 24/7 therapeutic model to set a new benchmark in neurorehabilitation. Our therapists in Nottingham have the opportunity to work hands-on with state-of-the-art technology, including:

  • Wrist Motus
  • Ankle Motus
  • Kinestica Bimeo Hand Rehab

Our approach goes beyond therapy hours—every interaction is therapy. From rapid pre-admission planning to structured inpatient programmes and coordinated post-discharge support, care is consistent, personalised, and outcome-focused. At the heart of this is our multidisciplinary team of consultants, nurses, therapists, psychologists, and rehab assistants, who work together using shared outcome measures and real-time insights from robotics and smart tech. We proudly support both NHS ICB-funded and private patients, delivering rehabilitation across a wide range of neurological conditions.

The role: As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy interventions for individuals with complex neurological needs.
  • Provide expert clinical leadership within the OT service and actively contribute to innovation and development across the wider MDT.
  • Support junior therapists through supervision, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Engage with service-wide quality improvement projects, outcome measurement, and clinical governance.
  • Help embed the use of specialist rehabilitation technologies into daily practice, aligned with our 24-hour rehab model.
  • Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights.

About you: For this role, you’ll need:

  • HCPC registration
  • Significant post-registration experience in neurorehabilitation or complex care (including ABI/TBI)
  • Advanced clinical reasoning and person-centred practice
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills
  • A passion for innovation and service improvement

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS.
