Come and join one of the UK’s largest independent providers in neuro and mental healthcare.

We proudly employ over 4000+ people – no matter what your experience, we have jobs for everyone.

Active Neuro, part of Active Care Group, is transforming neurorehabilitation in the UK — and we’re now looking for a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Birmingham team.

You’ll support adults with acquired or traumatic brain injuries, neurological conditions, and complex needs, helping them rebuild independence, confidence, and quality of life.

We’ve invested heavily in enhancing the service, including the development of a brand-new, purpose-built neurorehabilitation gym designed to support the delivery of world-class therapy.

The new facility will connect seamlessly with the main centre and will include advanced rehabilitation technology, robotics, and specialist treatment spaces, giving therapists access to the tools they need to deliver innovative, goal-focused rehabilitation.

Equipment such as Luna Robotic EMG, Exo Motus, and Arm Motus will enable intensive, integrated therapy approaches that are tailored to each person’s goals — whether that’s baking, reconnecting with art, gardening, or everyday living tasks.

As part of the therapy team, you’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of this exciting new space, helping shape an environment that supports both clinical excellence and exceptional patient experiences.

You’ll be part of a supportive network across Active Neuro, sharing expertise, accessing mentorship, and benefiting from personalised CPD tailored to your clinical interests — from functional rehabilitation to cognitive and perceptual retraining.

You’ll also have opportunities to collaborate with organisations like Headway and the Spinal Injuries Association and engage with wider innovations in the neurorehabilitation community.

If you’re a motivated, creative Occupational Therapist who wants to make a real and lasting impact, this is a fantastic opportunity to help shape a forward-thinking, person-centred service

Please note – this advert will close once we have received a sufficient number of applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the integration of specialist rehabilitation technologies into everyday practice, aligned with our 24-hour rehabilitation model.
  • Participate in audits and assist with monitoring and evaluating service effectiveness.
  • Work collaboratively with MDT colleagues to ensure coordinated, person-centred care.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff when needed, especially in complex cases.
  • Follow and promote risk management and safety procedures consistently.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with colleagues, visitors, and carers.
  • Contribute to quality improvement projects, outcome measurement, and clinical governance activities.
