Hours Available: Part Time / Supplementary Hours – approx. 1-2 hours per week. As the partnership with Durham University grows, more hours could become available (self‑managed; predominantly Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).
About the Role:
KEYFORT works in close partnership with Durham University, providing a comprehensive range of academic support packages to students. We put the student at the centre of the support they receive, encouraging independence and aiming to fulfil their ambitions and aspirations.
We are looking to recruit a passionate, enthusiastic and committed Study Skills Tutor who has specific experience of working with individuals with Dyslexia. You will be providing a high quality, responsive service which aims to remove barriers that prevent students from participating in higher and further education.
What you would be doing in your role:
- An expectation of the role will be creating comprehensive Individual Learning Plans (ILP) and providing support to students as stipulated in the assessment remit.
- You will provide expertise in the area of study to help students to develop their learning strategies.
Essential Criteria:
- You must be able to deliver face to face study support at a Durham university.
- We can potentially look to the provision of remote study support with students at their request, if there is the demand and agreements in place for this delivery method.
- The successful applicant must have the relevant qualification(s) and hold the current memberships. Your professional membership should be one of the following:
- The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS) – Full or associate membership
- British Dyslexia Association (BDA) – Full professional membership
- The Association of Dyslexia Specialists in Higher Education (ADSHE) – Professional membership
- Dyslexia Guild – Associate Member (ADG), Associate Member (ADG FE/HE), Member (MDG), Fellow (FDG)
