Vacancy Location: Rowlands Gill (NE39), Gateshead

Salary / Rate of Pay: £12.71

Shift pattern(s) available: 13‑hour support sessions working a combination of Days and Nights 8am to 9pm, 8pm to 9am.

Essential: Driver / Automatic – you must be confident driving a wheelchair adapted van.

We are looking to add to a support team of a lady living with a long‑term health condition, Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Support will include moving and handling, as well as personal care and light household duties. While she requires 24/7 assistance, she is highly independent in her decision‑making and values being in control of her own life. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team helping this lady to care for her own young family. Alongside her, there will be Personal Assistants providing 24/7 care for her baby. Although your role will not involve direct, hands‑on care for the baby, you will be supporting with the equipment used by the Personal Assistants to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Clear communication and teamwork will be at the heart of this role. You will work closely with the lady to make sure support is consistent, respectful, and person‑centred. You will receive full, comprehensive training to give you the skills and confidence needed, including specialist clinical training provided by our RGN / Clinical Educator.
