We are looking to add to a support team of a lady living with a long‑term health condition, Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Support will include moving and handling, as well as personal care and light household duties. While she requires 24/7 assistance, she is highly independent in her decision‑making and values being in control of her own life. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team helping this lady to care for her own young family. Alongside her, there will be Personal Assistants providing 24/7 care for her baby. Although your role will not involve direct, hands‑on care for the baby, you will be supporting with the equipment used by the Personal Assistants to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Clear communication and teamwork will be at the heart of this role. You will work closely with the lady to make sure support is consistent, respectful, and person‑centred. You will receive full, comprehensive training to give you the skills and confidence needed, including specialist clinical training provided by our RGN / Clinical Educator.

Who Would Be a Great Match?

  • Talkative, patient, fun and outgoing
  • Genuinely interested in building a meaningful relationship with the lady, especially with her family and friends who are integral to her daily life, and people she sees and interacts with on a daily basis

Values That Matter

Support for this lady must always be:

  • Person‑led and empowering
  • Respectful of their wishes, communication preferences and routines

Experience in health or social care is helpful but not essential – the right person is more important than the perfect CV.

What benefits will you receive?

  • A contract that works for you; fixed hour contract for part time hours, or a more flexible Zero hour contract
  • Paid Annual Leave; 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro‑ratio for part time) if you are on a fixed hours contract or, for those who choose our flexible zero hour contract, you will accrue 12.07% on all hours worked. Funds can be drawn at your discretion.
  • Training, Mentoring and Shadowing programmes; inhouse with our own RGN, Occupational Therapist and trained Psychologists
  • Paid Enhanced DBS check
  • Free access to Employee Assistance Programme; to support health and mental wellbeing
  • Blue Light discount card; giving you BIG discounts at major retailers
  • Employee of the month scheme; winners receive a monetary voucher
