Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced trading strategies across energy markets including day-ahead, intra-day, and balancing services.
- Optimize multi-revenue stream participation (e.g., frequency response, capacity, ancillary services) for BESS assets.
- Oversee integration with third-party trading platforms and optimize operational efficiency through automation and analytics.
- Own the financial performance (P&L, KPIs) of energy storage assets and deliver on commercial targets.
- Monitor market rules, policy developments, and grid service opportunities across the UK, Ireland, and Italy.
- Support the development of internal asset management tools and data systems.
- Coordinate with TSOs, DNOs, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and reporting standards are met.
- Deliver energy price forecasts and technical guidance to support investment, M&A due diligence, and project finance teams.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, aggregators, and optimization platforms.
- Provide data-driven insights through advanced analytics and forecasting models to guide asset performance decisions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Energy, Economics, or related field.
- MBA, CFA, or other advanced commercial or technical credentials are highly desirable.
- 5+ years of experience in energy asset management, trading, or power markets.
- In-depth knowledge of UK and EU power market structures, including grid services and regulation.
- Proven experience in optimizing BESS assets and trading strategies in wholesale energy markets.
- Familiarity with commercial optimisation platforms.
- Strong analytical and modelling skills, with experience in Python, R, or similar tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
