If you enjoy taking responsibility for how an application runs in the real world — from deployment and testing through to reliability and data — this role is designed for you. This is a hands-on ownership role focused on what happens after application code is delivered. Application development is handled by an external engineering partner; your responsibility begins once code is handed over. You’ll own how the application is deployed, tested, released, monitored, and supported as it prepares to go live and beyond. You’ll take practical responsibility for the application in production — understanding how changes affect it, testing releases manually where needed, and making sensible decisions that keep the platform stable, reliable, and trusted. This is a remote position.

What you’ll actually be doing:

  • Getting a clear understanding of the existing application, how it’s delivered by the external partner, and how it currently runs in Azure.
  • Owning the application lifecycle after handover from the external development team.
  • Managing deployments and environments within Azure.
  • Setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Managing and working with the Azure SQL database.
  • Validating releases through hands-on manual testing, particularly as the product approaches and enters live use.
  • Managing changes, releases, and rollbacks safely.
  • Monitoring reliability and responding to issues as they arise.
  • Extracting and analysing data to support product and operational decisions.

Your accountability is end-to-end: making sure the application works reliably once code is delivered.

Role preferences:

  • This role tends to appeal to people who enjoy owning systems once they’re live, not just designing them.
  • Like being close to how an application behaves in practice.
  • Are comfortable testing and validating changes themselves.
  • Want real responsibility rather than a narrow or purely advisory remit.

You’ll have the autonomy to improve how things are run, make pragmatic trade-offs, and build confidence in the platform as it moves into live use.

Who this role tends to suit:

  • This role is a strong fit for someone who is comfortable working with application code without being the feature developer.
  • Has experience deploying and operating applications in Azure.
  • Has worked with or managed CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understands databases and is comfortable working with Azure SQL.
  • Is happy doing manual testing where automation is limited.
  • Has worked in a small company or startup-style environment, or is motivated by that level of ownership.

You don’t need prior medical device experience. What matters most is judgement, accountability, and a practical approach to keeping a platform stable and well-run.

About Neupulse:

Neupulse is a UK-based health technology company focused on improving quality of life for people with Tourette’s syndrome. The team combines technical depth with a strong commitment to real-world user impact. After extensive development and testing, the device and app are preparing to go live in the coming months. Until now, the application and infrastructure have been developed and managed by a third-party organisation. As Neupulse approaches launch and begins supporting real users, that responsibility is moving in-house. This role sits at the centre of that transition, ensuring the application is well-run, changes are handled safely, and the platform is ready for live use.

Practical details:

This role is UK-based. Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK, as Neupulse is not able to offer visa sponsorship for this position.

If this sounds like a role you’d like to explore — even if you’re not actively job hunting — we’d love to start a conversation.
