Neupulse is at a turning point. After years of research and validation, our neurotechnology platform is launching commercially as a wellness device, and progressing toward full medical device approval. The technology has real potential to improve life for people living with Tourette's and related conditions, through accessible, evidence-led neurostimulation. We're looking for a CTO to take it from here. This isn't a steady-state role. You'll own the technology strategy for a connected medical platform at the point where software, data, regulation, and commercialisation all converge, and scale the engineering function behind it.

The foundations are built: mobile and connected apps, cloud infrastructure, connected hardware with embedded firmware, quality systems, and an imminent launch. Your job is to take it to scale. You’ll:

  • Own the roadmap and architecture across the whole platform - software, connected apps, cloud, and data, as well as the device itself.
  • Lead the technical path to medical device approval across key markets.
  • Provide technical oversight of internal teams and external partners, including the firmware and hardware partners behind the device.
  • Build and grow a high‑performing engineering function from early stage toward production scale.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Deep experience building connected products end to end - apps, cloud, connectivity, device integration.
  • A track record taking connected medical devices or regulated software through approval and into market (FDA 510(k), UKCA).
  • Strong command of ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and 21 CFR Part 11 - and enough fluency with hardware frameworks like IEC 60601 to oversee partners well.
  • The credibility to direct firmware and hardware partners, without needing to be a deep electronics specialist yourself.
  • Experience scaling engineering teams in a fast‑moving, commercial environment.
  • A feel for using data and AI to sharpen a product and its evidence base (a bonus, not a must).

Why it matters: Launch is imminent, the regulatory path is live, the platform is real, and the global ambition is genuine. The right person will shape not just the technology, but the direction of the business, and help bring neurotechnology to people who’ll genuinely benefit. Hybrid, Basingstoke, with regular on‑site collaboration. Neupulse builds innovative, non‑invasive neurotechnology - connected applications and data‑driven insight designed to improve wellbeing and long‑term health, with particular relevance for people living with Tourette's.
