Salary: £70,000 – £90,000 (depending on experience)
The Opportunity
I’m working with a fast-growing SaaS scale-up that’s been operating for over 10 years and is now evolving from a single product into a multi-product platform. Their engineering foundations are strong, and now they’re ready to bring design into the spotlight.
This will be their first dedicated design hire, giving you the opportunity to own the end-to-end design process and set the standard for design across the business. You’ll have real influence, unifying desktop and mobile experiences, solving complex product challenges, and laying the foundations for design systems and culture.
If you’re a designer who thrives on tackling complex workflows, enjoys creating experiences that span desktop and mobile, and loves turning functionality into clear, intuitive journeys, this role could be the one for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the end-to-end product design process: discovery, user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI.
- Work across desktop and mobile, ensuring a seamless experience across platforms.
- Simplify multi-step, complex workflows into intuitive journeys for different user types.
- Translate functionality and product concepts into user-friendly designs.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and leadership to shape and deliver features.
- Build and evolve a design system that can scale across multiple modules.
- Contribute to innovation in the platform, including emerging AI-driven features and workflows.
- Champion the user voice, ensuring customer feedback and usability inform the product.
What They’re Looking For
- Proven software product experience (SaaS/B2B) – essential.
- 4+ years in Product/UX/UI Design, within complex platforms.
- A portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end product design, including problem-solving, flows, and UX thinking (not just visuals).
- Experience across both desktop and mobile platforms.
- Proficiency in Figma (core design tool), plus comfort with prototyping, wireframing, and collaboration tools (e.g. FigJam, Miro).
- Experience collaborating closely with engineering, including preparing design specs and supporting delivery.
- Attributes that will make you stand out:
- Enthusiastic and proactive
- Hands-on and detail-driven
- Comfortable working independently as the sole designer
- Thrives on complexity and problem-solving
- Clear communicator who can explain design decisions
