Full-time, Permanent
I'm working with a well-established and growing property consultancy that’s looking to bring an Engineering Consultant (M&E) into the team. They’re a tight-knit, collaborative group of surveyors and engineers, known for delivering a consistently high standard of work and building long-term relationships with clients.
This role will see you working across both landlord and tenant instructions – covering everything from M&E audits and technical reporting to feasibility studies, project oversight and contract reviews. You’ll support blue-chip clients in iconic commercial buildings across the UK, particularly in London.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out M&E condition surveys, dilapidation reports and technical audits
- Writing clear, concise specifications (up to £2M value) and maintenance contracts
- Reviewing service charge costs and lease obligations from a technical angle
- Supporting lifecycle planning, statutory compliance and energy performance
- Managing projects end-to-end – from survey through to handover
- Providing client-facing advice and contributing to service excellence
Your Experience:
- HNC or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar experience)
- Strong experience surveying commercial premises
- Familiar with CDM, Health & Safety and Principal Designer duties
- Proven background in delivering M&E projects across the built environment
- Solid knowledge of JCT Contracts and excellent spec writing skills
- Consultancy experience and client-facing confidence
- Someone who’s proactive, commercially aware, and a natural problem-solver
What’s in it for you?
- A voice in a growing business with big plans
- The chance to work on varied, high-profile buildings UK-wide
- Hybrid working – one day a week from home if you choose
- Up to £50k salary
- 28 days holiday + bank holidays
- Pension contributions, mileage allowance, and optional childcare vouchers
- Supportive, down-to-earth team culture
This one would suit someone who enjoys variety in their work – no two days are the same. You might be auditing a building in London one week, and managing a small refurbishment project in Bristol the next.
