Associate General Counsel - Neuberger Wealth (excl US)
Neuberger (Neuberger Berman) is hiring an Associate General Counsel to join the Legal & Compliance Department in London. This role focuses on the non-U.S. retail business, requiring expertise in legal and compliance issues arising from asset management for private clients across non-U.S. jurisdictions.
Key Eligibility Criteria
Qualified solicitor, barrister, or attorney admitted in England & Wales.
Overseas-qualified attorneys with equivalent experience are considered.
Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in private wealth, asset management, or financial services law.
Must have the right to work in the UK without current or future sponsorship.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
Provide strategic advice on legal and regulatory issues affecting the non-U.S. retail business.
Advise on regulatory frameworks including FCA rules, AIFMD, MiFID II, GDPR, and MAS.
Partner with U.S. legal colleagues and regional compliance teams to ensure policy compliance.
Advise on distribution and delivery of products in non-U.S. markets, including licensing and permissioning.
Draft and update advisory agreements and review commercial contracts, RFPs, and marketing materials.
Develop and maintain monitoring processes for ongoing compliance and risk management.
