The Fixed Income Client Portfolio Specialist serves as a critical link between the firm’s investment team and its clients (both internal and external), acting as a subject matter expert in fixed income. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong client-facing skills to communicate investment processes, performance, and market insights. The successful candidate will have relevant experience and a proven track record of managing client relationships and supporting portfolio management in a fast-paced asset management environment.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Partner with Neuberger Berman’s client coverage teams to support the development and refinement of fixed income strategies to meet evolving client needs and market opportunities.
2. Identify new business opportunities and assist in pitching relevant fixed income solutions to prospective clients.
3. Conduct in-person investment reviews with clients, consultant due diligence meetings, new business presentations, and finals.
4. Interface with internal departments, including Marketing, Product Development, Performance Analytics, and Legal & Compliance, to maintain and develop marketing materials and new fixed income campaign ideas.
5. Work closely with the RFP Department to ensure accurate, well-written responses to existing product language and help craft new language where necessary.
6. Provide thought leadership by contributing to market commentary, white papers, and client-facing materials.
7. Translate complex fixed income strategies into digestible insights for clients and internal stakeholders.
8. Develop market analysis and provide input into new product positioning strategies.

Skills And Experience

1. 10+ years of experience in a similar role.
2. Bachelor’s Degree required; CFA or equivalent preferred.
3. Proven experience within a Product Specialist or Client Portfolio Management role.
4. Asset Management industry experience required.
5. Strong presentation skills, especially in Fixed Income products.
6. Expertise in credit products, particularly Non-Investment Grade.
7. Excellent communication skills, potentially multilingual.
8. Willingness to travel.
