Partnering with SMEs within the Renewable Space. Are you ready to play a key role in the UK’s transition to clean, renewable energy? We’re looking for a Planner to join a dynamic team delivering large-scale renewable energy developments across the country.
About the role: You’ll help shape and deliver planning strategies for solar, energy storage and other low‑carbon energy projects, from early site assessment through to planning consent and construction. Working closely with an experienced Lead Planner and a wider multidisciplinary team, you’ll ensure each project meets planning requirements while supporting the UK’s net zero ambitions.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the planning process for renewable energy projects from site identification through to consent.
- Undertake early-stage assessments of potential development sites, evaluating planning opportunities and risks.
- Liaise with local planning authorities, statutory consultees, and community stakeholders.
- Oversee consultants preparing environmental and technical assessments.
- Prepare and review planning application documentation and EIA screening requests.
- Support post-permission activities, such as discharge of conditions and amendments.
- Keep up to date with planning and environmental policy affecting the renewable energy sector.
What we’re looking for:
- Degree in planning, environmental management, geography, or a related discipline.
- Ideally working towards or holding RTPI chartership.
- Demonstrated understanding of the UK planning system.
- Experience in the renewable energy or infrastructure sector is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and project management skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across the UK.
