Grid Connections Engineer Company Overview An international consultancy and project management business is supporting a major UK energy infrastructure programme across EV charging, BESS, forecourt and wider power-related projects. Role Overview The business is looking for a Grid Connections Engineer to support grid connections across a multi-site energy infrastructure rollout. The role covers the process from initial DNO / IDNO applications through to quotation review, approvals, legal completion and energisation / commissioning support. Key Responsibilities * Prepare, submit, support and track grid connection applications with DNOs and IDNOs across multiple live sites. * Review connection offers, quotations, asset values, cable routes, power capacity, constraints, reinforcement requirements and cost variances. * Question technical specifications and pricing, compare options and support value engineering. * Maintain power registers, connection trackers, approval deadlines, legal status, risks and cost movement records. * Liaise with DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs, National Grid, contractors, solicitors, landlords and internal project / commercial teams Essential Experience * Good understanding of UK electricity networks, DNO / IDNO processes and grid connection requirements. * Hands-on grid connection experience or strong relevant knowledge. * Exposure to grid connections, EV charging, BESS, solar PV, renewables, utilities, electrical infrastructure or multi-site developments. Desirable Experience * Electrical engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification. * Knowledge of LV / HV principles, G99, G100, G5, G17, import / export requirements and non-exceed limits.
