Senior Project Manager / Project Director – Offshore Wind Pre-Assembly & Installation

Hybrid – UK, Denmark or Poland | Permanent or Contract | £100,000+ negotiable

We are supporting a major international wind-energy services business with the appointment of a Senior Project Manager or Project Director to lead one of Europe’s largest offshore wind pre-assembly and installation projects.

This is a major fixed-price contract valued at approximately €40 million. The project is expected to begin in Q1 2027, with the project delivery team now being assembled ahead of contract signature.

The successful candidate will be the overall project leader, taking operational and commercial responsibility for delivery. The position can be based from an office in the UK, Denmark or Poland, operating on a hybrid basis with regular travel to the project site.

The opportunity:

This is a senior, hands-on delivery role requiring someone who understands the operational and contractual demands of large-scale offshore wind pre-assembly and installation.

You may currently be working as a Senior Project Manager, Project Director, Contracts Manager or Operations Manager. Your current title is less important than your ability to take ownership of a substantial fixed-price project and lead it successfully from mobilisation through delivery.

Key responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility for a major offshore wind pre-assembly and installation project
  • Lead project mobilisation and help establish the complete delivery team
  • Own the programme, budget, resources, risks and contractual obligations
  • Manage delivery under a fixed-price commercial model
  • Provide operational and commercial leadership across the project
  • Coordinate internal teams, site management, subcontractors, suppliers and client stakeholders
  • Maintain control of costs, progress, variations, claims and contractual exposure
  • Ensure delivery meets the required safety, quality and performance standards
  • Identify and manage delivery risks, delays and commercial issues
  • Report project performance to senior leadership
  • Travel regularly to the project site and other European locations as required

Candidate profile:

  • At least 10 years’ experience within wind energy, ideally offshore wind
  • Proven experience delivering turbine pre-assembly and installation projects
  • Essential experience managing work under a fixed-price or lump-sum commercial model
  • Strong understanding of project operations, contract delivery and commercial risk
  • Experience leading projects valued at approximately €10–15 million or above
  • Previous responsibility for a completed large-scale pre-assembly project
  • Strong leadership skills and experience coordinating multidisciplinary international teams
  • Confidence managing senior client, supplier and internal stakeholder relationships
  • Experience working with major wind turbine OEMs
  • Vestas experience would be useful but is not essential; strong Siemens Gamesa or comparable OEM experience will also be considered
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Europe

Location and contract:

The successful candidate can be based in the UK, Denmark or Poland, working on a hybrid basis with regular project and site travel.

The business is open to either:

  • A permanent appointment, with a highly negotiable salary potentially exceeding £100,000 for the right person; or
  • An initial eight-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension

Candidates who are immediately available are particularly encouraged to apply, although reasonable notice periods can be accommodated. The preferred start date is before the end of September.

All applications and discussions will be treated in the strictest confidence.
