An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Project Manager to join a growing organisation delivering major renewable energy and electricity network infrastructure projects. This is a senior-level role with responsibility for coordinating and delivering electrical engineering activities across a portfolio of major projects, with a particular focus on substations, FEED, Owner’s Engineer and detailed design workstreams.

The Role

  • Provide senior project leadership across multiple projects and programmes, acting as a key interface between engineering, project development, power systems, procurement, construction and external consultants.
  • Lead consultant engagement and delivery across electrical and substation workstreams.
  • Manage scope, programme, budget, quality, risks and key deliverables.
  • Coordinate electrical design information, assumptions, interfaces and dependencies.
  • Challenge consultant outputs and assess technical assumptions and risks.
  • Support projects through FEED, detailed design and construction readiness.
  • Develop and improve project controls, governance and reporting processes.
  • Manage interfaces across engineering, procurement, construction, commercial and other project teams.
  • Provide senior-level reporting and recommendations to the Head of Engineering.
  • Mentor and support colleagues involved in electrical project delivery.

About You

We’re looking for someone who combines strong electrical engineering knowledge with senior project management and stakeholder management capability. You should have:

  • Experience managing engineering, infrastructure or energy projects through development, FEED, consent or delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure and an understanding of substation and network design.
  • Proven experience managing external consultants and technical deliverables.
  • Experience across project controls, risk, actions and programme interfaces.
  • Background in substations, grid connections, distribution or transmission networks is highly desirable.
  • Awareness of CDM and design risk management.
  • Experience within a regulated electricity network environment would be advantageous, including exposure to DNOs, TOs, NESO, ENA, Grid Code or Distribution Code.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with technical and senior stakeholders.
  • An electrical engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience is welcomed.
