Nelson Kia is looking for a qualified Automotive Technician to join our busy workshop team.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced technician who takes pride in their workmanship, enjoys working as part of a supportive team, and wants to build a long-term career with a well-established local automotive group.

About the role

Based at Nelson Kia, you'll carry out servicing, diagnostics and repairs across Kia vehicles, while also working on a variety of other makes and models.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Vehicle servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
• Diagnostic and fault-finding work
• Warranty and manufacturer repair work
• WOF inspections if suitably qualified
• Completing jobs efficiently and to a high standard
• Accurately recording work carried out
• Working closely with our Service Advisors and workshop team
• Keeping up to date with Kia technical information and training
• Maintaining a safe, tidy and professional workshop environment

What we're looking for

Ideally, you will have:

• A recognised automotive trade qualification
• Solid mechanical and diagnostic skills
• A current New Zealand driver's licence
• Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
• The ability to work efficiently without compromising quality
• A positive attitude and willingness to be part of a team
• Strong communication skills
• WOF authority would be an advantage, but is not essential

Previous Kia or franchise dealership experience would be beneficial, but it isn't essential. Manufacturer training and ongoing development will be provided.
