The Sales Account Manager is responsible for re-engaging, retaining and developing dealer partners by consistently delivering our value proposition and delivering sustainable sales growth. Acting as a trusted commercial partner, the Account Manager helps dealer partners improve performance, remain compliant, and achieve sustainable growth through the effective use of our motor finance, insight, and support solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Building deep understanding of each dealer partner’s business model, objectives, challenges and growth plans.
- Translating our products, services, insight and expertise into clear, dealer specific commercial value.
- Positioning finance, data, regulatory support and operational solutions as enablers of dealer performance, not just funding.
- Providing insight led conversations using market, portfolio and consumer data to inform decision making.
- Acting as a trusted advisor, helping dealers navigate regulatory change, risk, and evolving customer expectations.
Relationship & Value Management
- Managing a book of accounts remotely.
- High-frequency dealer partner touchpoints.
- Maximise dealer value by aligning our value proposition to each partner’s objectives, performance gaps and growth opportunities.
- Deliver balanced performance across sales activity, revenue, margin quality and operational efficiency.
- Support dealer partners to set, track and achieve business, funding and forecourt objectives.
- Identify early indicators of risk or underperformance and take appropriate, timely action to protect outcomes for both parties.
- Educate dealer partners on credit appetite, proposal quality and process efficiency to drive “first call resolution” outcomes.
- Consistently demonstrate the agreed sales and relationship approach when engaging dealer partners.
Territory & Growth Management
- Delivering sustained commercial sales growth, exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
- Manage the territory strategically, using data and insight to prioritise activity and opportunity in an organised manner.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities through targeted prospecting, referrals and networking.
- Develop and execute structured acquisition and growth plans for both new and existing dealer partners.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities across all stages of the sales process.
- Lead effective negotiations, supported by clear commercial rationale and internal alignment.
- Ensure all dealer visits and engagements are well planned, outcome focused and value led.
- Confidently present finance and digital solutions, clearly articulating dealer benefit and differentiation.
Business Partnering & Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with internal teams including Credit, Operations, Compliance, Marketing, Complaints and Business Assurance to deliver a seamless dealer experience.
- Share insight, feedback and best practice to continuously improve service delivery and proposition effectiveness.
- Monitor service performance against agreed standards and proactively address issues or recurring failures.

- Comfortable working to balanced commercial, quality and activity targets.
- Strong influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of digital and IT capability, including PowerPoint, Excel and CRM systems.
- Experience within motor finance, automotive or related financial services sectors.
- Working knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g. FCA, CCA, AML, data protection).
- Advanced CRM usage to plan, prioritise and manage territory performance.
