We are looking for a committed, detail‑driven Estimator who is passionate about delivering high‑quality civil engineering tender proposals and supporting the growth of our regional portfolio. As part of a fast‑paced and collaborative department, you will help develop commercially robust, competitive and innovative tenders across a diverse range of civil engineering disciplines—contributing directly to work that protects communities, enhances infrastructure, and supports sustainable development across the region. About the Role
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in shaping winning proposals from initial enquiry through to submission. Working closely with planners, bid managers, engineers and supply chain partners, you will ensure our tenders reflect both technical excellence and value for money.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage tender submissions from receipt of documents through to final delivery.
- Develop bid‑winning strategies in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Present tender proposals at review meetings with senior leaders.
- Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to support competitive, accurate pricing.
- Carry out detailed technical and commercial appraisals of labour, plant, materials and temporary works.
- Perform take‑offs and prepare first‑principles costings.
- Assess risk, propose mitigation strategies and ensure compliant tender outputs.
- Support, guide and mentor Assistant Estimators and other team members.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who is motivated, collaborative and eager to contribute to a supportive and inclusive team environment.
Essential
- Previous experience as an Estimator in the civil engineering or infrastructure sector, ideally across multi‑disciplinary projects.
- Strong first‑principles estimating capability.
- A solid background in civil engineering, either through experience or education.
Preferred
- Prior experience in site‑based or operational roles.
- Familiarity with Causeway (or similar estimating software).
