Overview
DRIVING INSTRUCTOR – Training and Development Department. Permanent, 37 hours per week. NWFRS Grade 06 £31,537 to £34,434 per annum. Based at Rhyl Fire Station.
You will provide an efficient driver training provision for the Service, ensuring that all training and learning conforms to the Health and Safety at Work Act and other legislative requirements.
Responsibilities
- Administration of the following courses:
- Light vehicle assessment
- Large goods vehicle assessment
- Large goods vehicle driver training
- Emergency response driver training initial (ERDTi)
- Emergency Response Driver Training Refresher (ERDTr)
- Familiarisation driving courses on new vehicles and specialist role vehicles (e.g., FLT, Hook Lift, Turntable ladder)
- Off road driving – Specialist off road vehicles over rough terrain
- Trailer towing instruction, familiarisation and revalidation
Requirements
- You will require a full UK driving licence, Category C licence (with no 78 restriction), Category C LGV Driving Instructor with 3 years’ minimum experience of driving LGV and 2 years as an instructor.
- Basic Welsh language skills are required; if not proficient, training will be provided to reach Level 2 proficiency by the end of a 12-month probation period.
- A standard DBS check is required for this position.
