The predicted salary is between 37478 - 42104 £ per year.

Location: Service Headquarters, Maidstone – mixture of office and home working – 3 days per week in office (with travel countywide, based on needs)

Hours: Full time – 37.5 Hours per week

Pension: Automatic membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme – career average pension scheme with 16.5% employer contribution

Holidays: In addition to entitlement to bank/public holidays you will receive 30 days holiday

Base salary: Grade 6 – £37,478- £42,104 per annum depending on experience

Being a Volunteer Coordinator:

As a Volunteering Coordinator, you will play a vital role in enabling Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) to deliver exceptional community-focused services through our volunteer workforce. You will bring enthusiasm, strong communication skills and excellent organisational abilities to support, develop and coordinate volunteers across a wide range of activities that help keep our communities safe. You will be the first point of contact for volunteers, fostering positive relationships and ensuring each person feels valued, included and supported. By coordinating volunteer involvement across prevention, protection, response, engagement and training activities, you will help turn organisational aims into meaningful community outcomes.

What you’ll do:

  • Support, develop and coordinate volunteers across a range of community, engagement and service activities.
  • Act as the main point of contact for volunteers, offering guidance, support and signposting when needed.
  • Plan and resource volunteer involvement at events and initiatives, including managing rotas for the Volunteer Response Team.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer records and analyse data to demonstrate impact and value.
  • Work with internal teams to match volunteer skills to organisational needs and ensure compliance with safeguarding, health, safety and inclusion standards.
  • Lead volunteer communications, meetings and recognition activities.
