About this role
The Analysis and Insight (A&I) Team provides analysis and insight expertise to UK fire and rescue services (UK FRSs), the NFCC and its partners by way of advice and consultancy, research, data collections, data cleansing and validation, data analysis, reporting and horizon scanning. The team is passionate about cultivating the evidence‑based culture that is developing within the NFCC and across UK FRSs.
What we are looking for
We’re looking for a highly organized and detail‑focused Data administrator to support national data collections and reporting activity. The role is key to ensuring data is collected, validated and quality assured to a high standard enabling analysts to produce meaningful insights for internal and external stakeholders including government. Working as part of a remote team, you will manage data requests, support survey activity, and provide administrative support, contributing to the effective delivery of quarterly and ad‑hoc reporting.
What you’ll bring
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables and charts, complex formatting, XLOOKUPs, Power Query)
- Excellent numerical skills with the ability to spot trends and anomalies
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to work as part of a team solely from home
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage workloads effectively
- Experience in formatting data into an easily understandable format, e.g. templates, dashboards, reports, etc.
- Some understanding of data mining tools and techniques, such as SQL, R, Python
- Some experience with data visualisation tools such as PowerBI
