Location: either UK remote or EU Remote based
Duration: 6 months
Day Rate: £400 a day (via umbrella solution UK Inside IR35) or circa €430 a day via payroll company gross for EU based resource

We are seeking an experienced ACI Engineer to design, implement, and manage Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) solutions. The successful engineer will work with cross-functional teams to build and optimize enterprise-grade data centre networking environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in ACI architecture, policy management, and network automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy ACI fabric architectures aligned with business and technical requirements
- Configure and manage ACI constructs including tenants, application profiles, EPGs, contracts, and policies
- Implement network segmentation and security policies using ACI microsegmentation capabilities
- Develop and maintain documentation for ACI topologies, policies, and configurations
- Perform troubleshooting and health checks on ACI fabrics using diagnostic tools and CLI commands
- Monitor ACI fabric performance and optimize configurations for availability and efficiency
- Collaborate with storage, compute, and application teams to integrate ACI with broader infrastructure
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering or data centre infrastructure
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco ACI design, deployment, and operations
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, VLAN, VXLAN, BGP) and data centre networking
- Proficiency with Cisco ACI Management Information Tree (MIT) and policy model concepts
- Experience with ACI configuration and monitoring tools (APIC, Cisco ACI simulator)
- Familiarity with network automation and scripting (Python, REST APIs preferred)
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, OpenStack) and container technologies
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently on complex problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification
- Cisco ACI Specialist certification
- Experience with SD-WAN solutions and cloud networking integration
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms
- Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance requirements (NIST, PCI-DSS)
- Experience with IT service management tools and change management processes
Technical Skills
- Cisco ACI (APIC, fabric, leaf/spine architecture)
- Network switches and routing platforms
- Python, Bash, or other scripting languages
- Monitoring and analytics platforms (Tetration, Nexus Insights)
- Network troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, traceroute, packet analysis)
