Account Manager – Public Sector – Remote based

Our client is a market-leading provider of advanced software solutions tailored to the construction and built environment sectors. Leveraging cutting-edge technology and data-driven insight, they support a diverse portfolio of public sector organisations (Local Authorities) in modernising operations, enhancing performance and delivering complex projects more efficiently.

Backed by over £100m in funding, they’ve doubled headcount over the past two years and continue to scale at pace. They are now seeking an experienced Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of public sector accounts. This role is focused on building lasting partnerships, protecting existing revenue and identifying opportunities to expand and deliver additional value across each customer organisation.

This is a remote position, with occasional travel for client meetings, industry events and team meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Own and develop relationships across a portfolio of Public Sector clients, engaging stakeholders at all levels
  • Understand client objectives and deliver value to drive retention and long-term success
  • Identify and execute growth opportunities with Local Authorities, through up-sell and cross-sell activities
  • Lead account planning, strategic reviews, and renewal processes
  • Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline visibility, and forecasting
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and represent the business externally, while championing customer feedback internally

The Successful Candidate

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing and growing existing accounts within a SaaS or technology environment
  • Experience working with public sector clients (particularly Local or Highway Authorities) or navigating procurement frameworks is preferred
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and multi-stakeholder environments
  • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders, including procurement and technical teams
  • Familiarity with structured sales methodologies (e.g. MEDDPICC) is advantageous
  • Highly organised, proactive, and disciplined in pipeline and CRM management
  • Basic salary up to £60,000 (depending on experience)
