We are currently seeking a Research Assistant (Cell Culture) to support a Biotech company in Oxford. The role is permanent, full time. You must be available to begin immediately. You will work collaboratively with the protein sciences and cell biology teams. Primary duties will include:

  • Cell line maintenance
  • Cell based assays and transfections
  • Involvement in equipment and reagent maintenance

Role Overview:

  • £40,000-£45,000pa DOE
  • Permanent, Full Time (37.5 per week, Mon-Fri)
  • Start Date: Late June/Early July

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mammalian Cell Culture
  • Cell Line Maintenance
  • Transfections
  • Cell Based Assays (flow cytometry, ELISA)
  • Equipment maintenance of incubators, hoods and other cell culture equipment
  • Ordering and maintaining reagents for cell based assays and tissue culture
  • Ensure all work is conducted in line with relevant standards and regulations

Requirements:

  • A Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific subject, ideally Biology, Biotechnology or similar
  • Strong practical experience and technical skills with Cell Based Assays, Cell Culture, Cell Line Maintenance, Transfection methods, and related techniques
  • Prior experience with immunology based assays/Lentiviral transductions is highly beneficial
  • Must be available to begin immediately in Oxford (OX4)
