Are you looking to gain some further experience with an innovative Chemical Company? A Manufacturer of Polyurethane Foams is seeking an experienced Lab Tech to join them at their facility in Derbyshire. Prior experience and confidence in a Lab setting is essential for this role as you will be working largely autonomously. Previous experience in a similar environment such as within PU Foam development/Testing or a similar industry such as Paints, Polymers or similar Chemicals is essential.

Role Overview

  • Temporary (initially 6 months)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: 4 days per week, Monday-Thursday 8AM-4PM (flexibility around exact start and finish times)
  • £19ph

Creating and updating SOPs for a range of procedures including: Physical Testing, Fire Testing, Formulation. Conduct a range of lab-based physical and chemical testing including Density, Hardness, Resilience and Fire Testing to assist with product development and testing. Work independently in the Lab, but alongside colleagues from other departments.

Requirements

  • Background in Chemistry or Materials Science
  • Strong Experience in Materials Testing, Polymers, Chemical Formulations, Foams, Paints or Similar closely related areas
  • Comfortable working independently to develop procedures based on specifications and write SOPs
