Hours: 32 hours per week

Working Hours: 07:30 – 16:00

Salary:

  • PAYE: £13.47 per hour
  • Umbrella: £17.45 per hour

Cardiff Council is seeking an experienced and reliable Gardener (Grade 4) to support seasonal demand within the Economic Development service. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a hardworking team maintaining high-quality outdoor and sports turf environments across the city.

What You’ll Do:

  • Carry out sports turf maintenance, grounds maintenance, and horticultural duties to a high standard.
  • Maintain pitches, landscaped areas, and public open spaces in line with service specifications.
  • Operate gardening machinery and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to meet service deadlines and operational demands.
  • Follow health & safety procedures and council policies at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A recognised qualification in sports turf maintenance or demonstrable experience in sports turf maintenance.
  • Previous experience in a similar gardening or grounds maintenance role.
  • Ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail.
  • Good organisational and IT skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A flexible approach and the ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence is desirable.

  • Completed Right to Work documentation.
  • Signed Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Valid Photo ID.
