Responsibilities
- Direct, organise and motivate a high performing team in inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal work.
- Establish and enforce appropriate safety arrangements; ensure safe systems of work for Network Rail staff and contractors.
- Proactively control and check quality of work and the competence of team members.
- Ensure assets are fully compliant and that vehicles, plant, tools, equipment and materials are fit for purpose.
- Prepare and maintain vital reports related to performance and compliance.
Essential Criteria
- Experience of organising and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work
- Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing
- Knowledge of discipline-specific maintenance, inspection, faulting and renewal techniques
- Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures and instructions
- A clear and inspirational leader with a strong sense of direction
Desirable Criteria
- Hold or be working towards NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, or demonstrated knowledge through experience
- Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need
Note: This role involves days, nights and weekend working and is safety critical; it is subject to drug and alcohol testing and medical assessment.
