Brief Description
We are seeking a Principal Engineer to lead and manage GB ETCS engineering policy development and delivery in support of the GB Masterplan for ETCS.
About the role (External)
This role is an exciting opportunity to provide technical expertise to GBRX's Engineering Team and industry-wide Digital Signalling portfolio. We need someone that can demonstrate professional leadership to both internal and external colleagues and stakeholders, with a specialist focus and understanding of ETCS (European Train Control System). You will have to balance a number of factors when making decisions including safety verification, standards compliance and the potential for improvement and innovation. If this sounds like something you think your knowledge and experience is suited to, we'd love to see your application.
What we need from you:
- Chartered Engineer or demonstrate equivalent experience (Level 7)
- A sound knowledge of applicable policies, standards and national legislation
- Experience of developing technology and product strategies
- Knowledge of the safety management and risk assessment process
- Experience and understanding of the whole Railway System
- Experience of working on ETCS projects, or a demonstrable understanding of ETCS and its impact on the wider Railway System
