Position

Occupational Health Nurse Advisor – Network Rail (Permanent, Full‑time)

Band & Salary: Band 4C £43,588 – £49,037 (subject to experience)

Location: Daily onsite; available at Newcastle, Swindon, Milton Keynes (Part‑time 2 days/week), Ipswich, Perth, Birmingham New Street, Crewe Mannin House, Lancaster, London Victoria, Stratford, York, Bristol.

About the Role

Join our onsite clinical team to deliver Occupational Health services for Network Rail line managers and employees. You will conduct clinical assessments, health surveillance, fitness‑to‑work evaluations, and manage employee health records. You will supervise Occupational Health Technicians, ensure service quality, and liaise with HR and line managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver face‑to‑face clinical appointments, including health surveillance and fitness‑to‑work assessments.
  • Prepare detailed reports in line with Nursing and Midwifery Council guidance.
  • Supervise and mentor Occupational Health Technicians.
  • Maintain employee health records and ensure compliance with legal and GDPR requirements.
  • Collaborate with Occupational Health, HR, and line managers to address emerging issues and trends.
  • Collect and report data to monitor performance and achieve key objectives.

Essential Criteria

  • Registered Occupational Health Nurse, General Nurse on Part 1 or 3 of the NMC register.
  • Qualification in occupational health (diploma, degree, or MSc).
  • Experience in health surveillance, case management, and occupational health nursing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in IT and knowledge of relevant legislation and GDPR compliance.
