What You'll Do

As the Lead Business Change Manager you will Manage and coordinate a portfolio of business change programmes, ensuring effective benefits realisation, governance, and delivery excellence. The role has a strong programme control focus, encompassing change control, project planning, and the creation of high-quality, data-driven management reporting. You will lead the continuous improvement of governance and reporting frameworks, provide expert advice to enhance project and programme management capability, and act as PMO across a portfolio of priority workstreams. Working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels, you will drive accountability, support successful delivery against plans, and help embed a culture of continuous improvement and inclusive ways of working.

This vacancy is Band 2B, salary starting Β£71,163 rising to Β£86,801 (DOE).

Your experience and skills

Key accountabilities

  • Identify, plan and track the business benefits and outcomes required of the business change programme.
  • Provide programme assurance and overview of the benefits realisation plan.
  • Confirm that projects will contribute to the realisation of benefits, making sure no overlap exists between individually owned profiles.
  • Establish and maintain business ownership of benefits profiles and the benefits realisation plan.
  • Assess and manage risks to benefits realisation and stakeholder engagement and address potential issues and concerns.
  • Create and implement stakeholder management strategies and persuade internal and external stakeholders of the agenda for change; setting realistic expectations on both the benefits and drawbacks of specific changes.
  • Create and implement communications strategies and plans.
  • Prepare affected business area for transition to business as usual, developing strategies to protect the investment and transition by engaging relevant stakeholders.

Senior project manager with an excellent track record of delivering large scale business change within a complex blue-chip business or government function

  • Extensive experience in defining, tracking and delivering business benefit in change management initiatives

Results orientation, with a passion for delivery

Effective interpersonal skills and an ability to use influence to gain buy in to enable change to happen

An ability to work well under pressure in a rapidly evolving environment

Experience of working across business functions to deliver multi-million business benefits

Experience of managing people in a change resistant and complex business environment
