As an Intelligent Infrastructure Technician, you’ll monitor systems, turning real-time data into decisions that protect asset health and performance. You’ll spot issues early, guide colleagues responding to alerts, and help prevent service-affecting failures. If you’re driven by analysis, problem-solving and making a tangible impact, this is a place to thrive.

You should be curious, able to turn insights into clear, actionable advice, and communicate effectively. You’ll support colleagues who rely on your judgement to keep services running smoothly. A calm, methodical approach to fast-moving situations and a genuine interest in how intelligent systems improve asset performance are important. We have two opportunities available.
Key accountabilities:
- Using insight from Intelligent Infrastructure, notify change in asset status to staff responsible for maintenance and faulting tasks to prevent service-affecting failure.
- Provide alert and alarm fault status, location, and diagnostic history for reported failures on monitored assets and provide advisory information to minimise response and restore time.
- Manage data quality and alert/alarm levels within the systems to provide timely information on type and likelihood of failure to staff who will create and prioritise fault/incident entries.
- Manage calibration of Intelligent Infrastructure equipment to meet defined criticality settings, supported by maintenance teams, to deliver effective response to alerts and alarms and reduce service-affecting failures.
- Provide reports on asset health, including highlighting those in maintenance mode.
- Support routine analysis and improvement activity as required by line management.
- Utilise information within Intelligent Infrastructure systems to verify and correct asset, work and failure data.
- Contribute to personal development and that of others.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Competencies, And Qualifications:
- Must be a member of the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH) at Chartered (CMIOSH) level or above.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. MIOSH, CQI, IIRSM or equivalent) with chartered status and/or education to degree level.
- Experience in the management of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality).
- Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisational skills.
- Strong management and leadership skills.
- Ability to act as a role model for safe behaviours.
- Knowledge of safety and operational issues.
- Understanding of UK and European legislative framework and requirements.
- Experience as a Health and Safety, Environmental or Quality practitioner.
- Knowledge of audit and investigation.
- Knowledge and experience of railway or related industry inspection, faulting, and maintenance techniques, especially with Signals and Telecoms.
