Brief Description

About the role: We are seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environmental Advisor to join our Infrastructure Maintenance Delivery team. You will provide advice and support on workforce health, safety, and environmental issues, promoting a positive safety culture and environmental sustainability.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Offering expert guidance on health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
  2. Conducting safety audits and inspections to identify hazards.
  3. Developing and delivering training programs.
  4. Collaborating on safety and environmental initiatives.
  5. Leading by example to foster a safety-focused culture.

Who are we looking for?

A Safety and Operations Specialist with operational railway knowledge, proactive safety behavior, and a commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence.

Additional activities include:

  1. Supporting and coaching teams on safety issues.
  2. Monitoring safety data and recommending actions.
  3. Identifying risks and control measures.
  4. Implementing safety programs.
  5. Engaging with safety forums and external bodies.
  6. Investigating accidents and incidents.
  7. Conducting safety audits and checks.
  8. Ensuring compliance with safety plans.

Must be a member or working towards IOSH TechIOSH or above. Knowledge of safety management, standards, environmental systems, and railway operations is required. Desirable qualifications include NEBOSH diploma and IEMA certification. Good IT skills are preferred.
