Scotland\’s Railway is part of this large family and it covers a large geographical area from the Borders to Thurso at the far tip of the North East of Scotland, accounting for almost 20 per cent of the UK rail network. We provide rapid access along busy commuter routes to our seven cities, servicing the varied needs of our business and leisure commuter services, including cross border services and rural services. We have up to 50 freight services operating every day and we are steadily building capacity for this to grow. We actively challenge unsafe practices and take responsibility for addressing risks, resolving issues and protecting safety and wellbeing.Brief Description The Section Planner uses corporate planning processes, systems and databases to undertake the development of detailed, fully resourced and optimised work plans for approval by Section Managers.Fixed Term Post 6 month secondment / fixed term post.About The Role (External) Key AccountabilitiesPlan and optimise all agreed work activities for the section.Accurately update systems, databases and records as required.Produce Safe System of Work plans.Submit green zone access and isolation requests.Produce draft quarterly plans.Manage weekly Plan-Do-Review meetings.Represent Section Managers at planning meetings.Collate and maintain infrastructure maintenance records.Essential Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications Work Plan production and resource optimisation skillsScheduling profile in work planning/scheduling systemCore Planning Skills Level 2Knowledge of access and possession processes and systemsSafe System of Work Planning Process and SystemGood interpersonal, communication and organisational skillsDesirable Knowledge of maintenance delivery processes and techniquesHow To Apply (External) Click \’apply\’ to login and submit your CV.
