Brief Description

There is an exciting opportunity to join us in a role that is vital to our success. We are looking for two part-time Assistant Signal & Telecoms Maintenance Engineers to join our team to lead the coaching and development of the Signalling function. The purpose of this role is to design and deliver training programmes to colleagues up to Team Leader level, to work towards a more productive and reliable railway. This role will be for six months initially, with a view to extend if required. There are x 2 20 hour (part time) contracts available on a six months basis with the potential to be extended.

About the role (External)

Role and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Manage development of individuals and the engagement of the team.
  • Manage the arrangements for staff safety and competence.
  • Monitor asset performance, reliability, productivity and efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and support.
  • Maintain the accuracy of systems, databases and records.
  • Undertake an agreed programme of staff surveillance, work quality and asset condition checks.
  • Design and deliver training programmes to Technicians and Team Leaders, focusing on day to day Signalling Maintenance.
  • Share your extensive knowledge of Signalling Infrastructure to inspire and develop junior colleagues whilst ensuring safety remains a priority.
