Brief Description
Manage the day-to-day performance of the Station team within set resources and budgets, delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a safe, secure and quality station environment for all stakeholders including TOCs, tenants, passengers, station users and retailers. This role requires valid security vetting clearance; any offer is conditional on obtaining clearance prior to start date. About The Role (External)
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the station team in delivering a safe environment compliant with operational and safety standards; act as a role model, mentoring staff and progressing development plans to enhance performance.
- Implement and lead station emergency and evacuation plans; manage security of risk areas, ensure inspections are completed and recorded; manage resources in response to incidents.
- Monitor and maintain station services and amenities per Station Access Agreements (SAAs), in partnership with TOCs and retail outlets.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders (route teams, TOCs, FOC) to build relationships and improve customer satisfaction at the station.
- Manage rosters and resources on a day-to-day and long-term basis, delivering contingency plans within budget and procurement rules.
- Oversee station checks and contractor compliance; implement the National Railway Security Programme and Station Security Plan to meet legal requirements and improve safety.
- Conduct risk assessments mandated by legislation and company standards; review contractor risk assessments and method statements for compliance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies; oversee competency assessment processes and applicable standards.
- Carry out non-technical checks of works, ensuring Landlord's Approval Conditions are adhered to and reporting non-compliances.
