Responsibilities
- Manage and direct the Technical Support Team to provide production, performance, assurance, technical, analytical, and data quality support to the Maintenance Engineering team.
- Oversee asset performance, reliability, and efficiency; provide expert technical guidance and support.
- Lead on survey and design work; manage assurance processes and address non-compliance within the delivery unit.
- Conduct technical inspections and investigations; review and approve method statements and plans; maintain accurate systems, databases, and records.
- Coordinate local requirements for track monitoring activities; ensure outputs are received and acted upon.
- Implement a programme of staff surveillance, work quality checks, and asset condition assessments to maintain high operational standards.
- Support safety and competence across all operations and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Relevant technical competence
- Knowledge of maintenance delivery processes and techniques
- Knowledge of safety and compliance management processes
- Knowledge of operational railway environment
- Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and procedures
- Design knowledge and experience
- Failure/incident management and rectification techniques
- Knowledge of other functional disciplines
- Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification
Nice-to-have
- Knowledge of coaching techniques
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: £43,588 – £57,464
- Pro-rata annual leave entitlement (28 days)
