We are looking to expand our team and have multiple opportunities for Planners to join our team in Manchester! Our planners are pivotal to our business, ensuring the right person is booked onto the right course at the right location with the correct equipment and course pre-requisites. As a Planner, you will be responsible for producing detailed, fully resourced and optimised training delivery plans for our national delivery teams.
About the role:
- Contract type: Both permanent and fixed term opportunities (with the potential to become permanent)
- Salary: £30,044.00 Per annum (Band 5)
- Location: Manchester Square One (hybrid position, 3 days per week office based as per Network Rail hybrid working policy)
- Closing date: Midnight on Sunday 29th March 2026 - please note this role may close early in the event of a high number of applications.
Full training will be provided but to succeed you will need excellent customer service skills, be driven by continuous improvement and collaboration, and have strong attention to detail. You will provide planning and administration support to produce detailed, fully resourced and optimised training delivery plans.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing robust training plans to meet customer and business objectives.
- Maintaining a healthy balance that maximises trainer and venue utilisation but considers the health and wellbeing of our teams.
- Working with our suppliers to procure training services to meet training demand in line with customer budgets.
- Forecasting the cost of training delivery plans and monitoring records of expenditure to identify risks and opportunities.
- Supporting the planning of new events and initiatives.
- Proactively managing short- and long-term plan changes.
- Identifying, supporting and implementing improvements to deliver an effective, efficient, customer focused, flexible and agile planning service.
