This is a dual role for a Support Driver/Stores Assistant on the Industrial and Commercial Gas Metering contract. You will load and deliver materials to work sites across the contracted area and satellite stores. You will be required to work safely; however, the role will involve manual handling (training will be carried out as part of the induction). There may be requirement for some unsociable working hours from time to time, to support our operational teams during emergencies. You will transport materials to and from satellite stores, suppliers and engineers. You will liaise with contract managers, back office, supervisors and operatives. You will successfully employ best business practices to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs and increase performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Good knowledge of site safety (Training provided)
- Drive safely and project a good company image
- Loading and unloading equipment, materials and receiving, unpacking and checking deliveries as well as stocking shelves
- Organise deliveries on a rotation basis to satellite stores
- Process returns and store in readiness for collection
- Undertake emergency deliveries
- Check stock levels on a regular basis, undertaking weekly % stock count
- Scanning serial numbers to ensure assets are tracked
- Stock picking and deliveries, maintaining accurate tracking paperwork
- Timely reporting of issues and challenges
- Support back office, engineers and supervisors
- Ensure that safety issues are reported in line with Company procedures
- Continuously monitor the depot and satellite stores, ensuring strong housekeeping
- Ensure suppliers maintain compliance with delivery specifications
- Check quantities of unpacked supplies against delivery notes/purchase orders
- Ensure security, cleanliness and good care of the company vehicle, equipment and plant
- Complete all necessary documentation in accordance with the company and contract requirements (daily vehicle checks, vehicle locks, company-wide internal training)
- Willingness to learn
Experience and Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- HSE - Adherence to safety policies and regulations
- Telehandler license preferred but training provided
- Computer knowledge including Excel, Word, Email
