Description
As HSEQ Advisor, you’ll join a respected operationally focused HSEQ function supporting high-risk wastewater works on a fast-paced and technically demanding contract. You’ll be part of a proactive, hands-on team embedded within operations and supported by a national network of 40+ HSEQ professionals across the Network Plus group. Your day-to-day work will be site-led, directly supporting colleagues delivering deep excavations (typically 4-6m), temporary works, confined space entry, and emergency civil repairs. You’ll coach teams, reinforce safe systems of work, respond rapidly to emerging risks, and help build a culture of safe, right-first-time delivery. You’ll act as the first point of contact for HSEQ support across the contract, working closely with Project Managers, Supervisors, and Operatives. You’ll also be supported by a highly visible and experienced HSEQ Lead who invests in team development & progression. Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with CDM 2015, including support of CPPs, Permits to Dig, Temporary Works and internal procedures.
  • Ensure that safety and compliance standards are maintained, and any issues are addressed immediately
  • Promote & monitor compliance with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), RAMS and Toolbox Talks
  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure robust closure of non-conformances
  • Support high-quality incident reporting and investigation processes.
  • Monitor and ensure actions from internal, external and client reviews are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Work with the wider operational team to maintain strong relationships, improve processes, reduce risks & embed best practice
  • Compile monthly reports on site safety trends, inspection findings, and proactive interventions.
  • Support the business with delivering the HSEQ strategy
  • Evolve with the business and be willing to learn more about the products and services we deliver

Experience and Qualifications
Essential
  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015, including practical application of pre-construction information and CPPs.
  • Experience of influencing behaviours and challenging unsafe practices
Desirable
  • Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor (TWC/TWS)
  • Confined Space Entry or Management awareness
  • Experience in utilities, civils or construction, ideally involving deep excavations and temporary works
  • EUSR SHEA Water
  • Environmental Qualification
